"The
Breeders Of Choice"
FIVE
STAR***** |
In October of 2003 Kevin and Laurie helped us to select our family dog. My
Husband had never had a family pet and was extremely leery of the whole
idea! However, through a lot of persistence we talked him into it!
The process that we went through in purchasing our pup was also extremely
pleasant. Kevin and Laurie kept us up to date on the growing and
developing of the puppies. It seemed bi-weekly we would receive photos or
movie clips through the Internet. It was so exciting. And we know more
about our dog’s family tree’s than our own!
Riley is now 7 months old; he has a calm and fun-loving nature, which is
absolutely amazing with our kids.
His personality is beautiful as well as his appearance. Riley was
extremely easy to train and one of the most exciting times for all of us!
We have enjoyed Riley so much we decided to
extend our family once again.
In February of 2004 we got Riggs. Riggs is very different from Riley but
they compliment one another. Riggs is now 11 weeks old and a pleasure. Our
yellow Labs are the most incredible, lovable dogs ever!!!
Kevin and Laurie have been at this a long time and it truly shows,
One of the most important times in a puppy’s life is immediately following
birth, which is where Laurie and Kevin work their magic. As you can see we
cannot say enough good about these folks. Having said that, we can
guarantee you will get the dog you have always wanted if you decide to
choose Family and Fields Labs. as your breeder!
Best of Luck ---You won’t be sorry!!
Sincerely,
From our family to Yours ---The Rotter’s

"Thank-you Kevin and
Laurie for being what I would call, 'Breeder's of Choice'. " |
I had always wanted a
chocolate lab and when Gracie was given to me for Christmas by my
partner I couldn't be more excited! This little, brown 4-legged
creature sat before me with eyes that no one could resist. Immediately
there was an innate connection and a bond that I hope lasts for a very
long time.

But as everyone knows, along with a puppy comes the many chores and
tasks of training. But again, much to my surprise things progressed so
easily. Gracie was house trained within the week, she came at the call
of her name within days and made her mark known throughout the house.
She has her corner on the couch, her corner in the bed and her spot on
the floor. She has only been with us for just shy of 3 months but I
couldn't imagine life without her. She is such a joy and no matter what
they day brings, she always manages to put a smile on my face.
Upon coming into our home there was the hurtle of her forming a
relationship with a 'Bug' (Boston Terrier x Pug) named Roxie but that
turned out to be no hurtle at all. In fact, the two of them are
inseparable.
Gracie has and will continue to be a very integral part of our home.
She's strong, spirited and beautiful yet calm and relaxed when needed.
My vet stated that she was one of the most beautiful Chocolate labs he
has seen in the 15 years he's been practicing.
Thank-you Kevin and Laurie for being what I would call, 'Breeder's of
Choice'. I firmly believe that I received a companion and best friend
from people who take pride in what they do and go about their daily
business, both with man and animal, with the utmost of love.
Sincerely,
Brad and (Gavin)

"..a great part of our family" |

Hello you two - what a fantastic dog
you have bred for us - he's over three and still fantastic. So amazing
to train - still learning new tricks, we taught him to bow last month,
still fetching like crazy, still lunging off the dock regardless of the
water's temperature - and still absolutely wild about the ball. But most
importantly, a great part of our family, always making us smile. He's an
amazing dog. Thanks so much!!
We went to your site a couple of months
back, it looks like you've got some gorgeous dogs added to your crew.
Awesome.
Not that we like to think
about life without Finny, but our next dog will also be a Barber lab. A
woman was remarking on how beautiful he was just this morning. I never
know what to say (I didn't have much to do with it - it's just good food
and great genes, after all)....
Take care,
Melanie and D'Arcy

"are
all of his littermates are as cuddly and loving as he is?" |
|
Charlie is GREAT! He is an incredibly sweet dog. We
are wondering if all of his littermates are as cuddly and loving as he is?
Charlie is growing pretty quickly. We take him for
runs and/or long walks every day. We live less than a mile from the beach,
and he absolutely loves playing in the waves. We don't have any beach
pictures yet, but we'll get some. It's his favorite place.
Charlie is also great at playing fetch, catch, and
wrestling. He is the perfect dog (although that doesn't mean he's always
perfectly behaved). I took Charlie to puppy classes a couple months back
though, and he now has the basic "sit, stay, go to your spot, and wait"
commands down.
He really is a great, great dog. Kathryn and I are
thrilled!!! If you ever want a recommendation from us, let us know.

"A perfect addition to the family" |
|
Dear Barber Family:
Hello from the frozen
north! I hope that you have been enjoying nicer weather than we have.
We have had far too many days of cold - I think we are at about 40 - 41
days of - 35 to -45 and we are all starting to get a little tired of it.
Hope you are all well and
I thought I would just send an update on how we are all doing here.
Bailey is doing wonderfully! She is just the greatest pup and we are
so very very pleased with her. Such a nice dog with a great
temperament and she is definitely part of our family. Great with
kids, very affectionate, easy to train and overall just a fantastic dog.
A perfect addition to the family and we're so very glad that we got
her. Kevin often takes her for walks on the lake off her leash and she
does just fine. He hid on her a couple of times when she wasn't coming
back and she didn't like that too much. After that she doesn't stray
too far from him and loves to retrieve a stick over, and over, and over
again. She tolerates the cold weather very well. We have made an
appointment to get her fixed and we're already sad that she'll have to
stay overnight. We're anxious to see how she will like water this
summer as my sister has a cabin and we go out a lot in the summer - it
will be a great place for her to run around and swim.
Well, just wanted to say
hello and send an update. Take care.
The Beemers.

"He brings joy to our lives every day!!" |
|
We are looking forward to start the
new year with our new family member who will turn 16 weeks very soon. We
have an appointment at the vet's next week.
A little update on how we're doing:
Cooper is doing so well. I can't
begin to tell you how many people have stopped me asking to pet Cooper and
give him treats. Many dog owners have said how much potential this pup
has. Well I keep saying.... "you're right, this pup has great
potential. I met his parents and they are both beautiful!". He has a
wonderful temperament. He is so much fun. I went downtown for coffee
early this morning at Starbucks (inside) with Cooper. The staff gave him a
couple of cookies as he was behaving like a little gentleman. He was a
real hit. I am so proud of him. We visit my mother who lives in a
residence for elders. Cooper is the star every time I go! My mother is
very proud. My mom in law is just the same. She can't believe how fast he
is growing. He is totally housetrained - right on schedule!! He loves his
food. We go for our daily walks. We play fetch. We go to the aboretum at
the Ottawa Experimental Farm where he has opportunities to run freely for
a short while. He is totally socialized with other dogs. We try to take
him everywhere we go. He brings joy to our lives every day!!
Pictures will come soon.
Take care,
Pauline and Newton Sewell |

"She's
everything you'll ever want in a dog" |
Hi Kevin, Laurie and Family:
I've been taking Roxy up to Inglewood
everyday during the past two week to run through the trails and "retreive"
her dummy. I walk with a lady who has a blonde lab and a man who has a big
black lab (he must weigh about 85 lbs.) Roxy is by far the fastest of the
three and the most determined to get to the dummy first. If one of the
other dogs do get it first she just takes it from them and brings it back
to me.
After an hour and half of running
and playing and smelling she flakes out at home. Our neighbors think she's
the greatest dog around because she is so calm and friendly with everyone:
kids, adults, other dogs. Roxy is so good she's everything you'll ever
want in a dog. I think she weighs about 60 lbs but I'll know her exact
weight in Feb. when she gets her needles. I'll try to take some photo's of
her and send them on to you. Talk to you soon
